ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (BFMG) — Two people are dead following a kidnapping and apparent murder-suicide that ended on Interstate 85 in Anderson County, according to the county coroner’s office.
The Anderson County Coroner’s Office said the 38-year-old suspect identified as Nathan Orlando Cureton died on May 24 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Deputies said the suspect drove north on I-85 with the woman in the vehicle. At some point along the interstate, near River Road and the Piedmont exit, the man shot the woman while she was inside the car.
The suspect then continued driving before fatally shooting himself, according to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle came to a stop near the Piedmont exit.
The woman was transported to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
