CLINTON, S.C. (BFMG) — Multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating the death of 18-year-old MyAngel Walker, who was reported missing last week and later found deceased in Greenwood County where her car appeared to be burned according to WYFF.
Walker was reported missing to the Laurens Police Department on Thursday after she failed to show up for work, an unusual behavior that concerned her family. She was last seen in Clinton, prompting a joint investigation by the Laurens and Clinton police departments.
“It became apparent during the night that we were looking for something a little more than just somebody missing,” said Laurens Police Chief Heath Copeland.
The investigation quickly expanded into Newberry and Greenwood counties as officials determined her disappearance to be suspicious. Tragically, Walker’s body was discovered inside a vehicle near McKenzie Road in Greenwood County.
Authorities have not yet released Walker’s cause of death.
Two individuals have been charged in connection to the case. Malachi Pressley, 19, faces charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Taylor Kinard, also 19, was charged with accessory after the fact.
“She had knowledge of it and she helped,” Clinton Police Chief Michael Addison said of Kinard’s involvement.

Both suspects are scheduled to appear for bond hearings on Saturday morning. Officials have not disclosed the nature of their connection to Walker, citing the ongoing investigation.
Walker, a recent high school graduate, had aspirations of becoming a nurse.
“Everything I’ve heard of MyAngel has been, she was a very bright young lady with a very good heart,” Copeland said. “This is a tragedy that should not happen. But we’re glad that we were able to get justice for that family really quickly here.”
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is assisting in the investigation, and police are continuing to conduct interviews and gather evidence.
Authorities urge anyone with information related to Walker’s death to contact the Clinton Police Department at 864-833-7512 or Crime Stoppers at 68-CRIME.
“The Clinton Police Department along with the supporting agencies extends our deepest, deepest condolences to the family and friends of MyAngel Walker during this difficult time,” Addison said.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned for updates.
