HUNTSVILLE, AL (BFMG)— The family of Ronald Leslie Dumas Jr. attended today’s Aniah’s Law hearing in Madison County, where Circuit Judge Alan Mann denied bond for Kierra Clark, one of the suspects charged in connection with Ronald’s disappearance.
During the hearing, prosecutors revealed disturbing new details regarding the alleged torture Ronald endured—presumed to be during the final moments of his life. The courtroom fell into stunned silence as the family absorbed the horrifying information for the first time.
“Our family is devastated. We are heartbroken,” said Shakeria Samples, the mother of Ronald’s eldest child. “The idea that someone could intentionally and deliberately hurt another human being in this way—especially someone who did nothing to deserve it—is unbearable. Ronald is a son, a father, a loved one. He is not just a name on a flyer. And he has been missing for over 7 months.”
Ronald’s father said he remains stunned and deeply shaken, struggling to imagine what his son must have gone through at the hands of those now charged in his case.
Despite the emotional toll, the Dumas family remains steadfast in their pursuit of justice for Ronnie. Today’s ruling marks a small but significant step forward.
“We are thankful to the Huntsville Police Department, the Madison County District Attorney’s Office, and Judge Mann for today’s decision,” the family said. “While no legal outcome can erase our pain, knowing that those responsible will not walk free as this case moves forward gives us a measure of peace.”
The family asks the public to continue sharing Ronald’s story and encourages anyone with information to come forward.
