LAUREL COUNTY, Ky.(BFMG) — A bag labeled “definitely not a bag full of drugs” helped land two people in jail after a Kentucky detective discovered suspected narcotics inside a parked vehicle, authorities said.
According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, a detective was patrolling a local business when he noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in an employee area. When he approached and spoke with the man and woman inside, he saw a plastic bag that appeared to contain illegal drugs.
During a search of the vehicle, the detective found a second plastic bag labeled “definitely not a bag full of drugs,” which also contained suspected narcotics, officials said.
Deputies said the woman, identified as 51-year-old Tricia Croley, initially handed over an identification card belonging to someone else. A records check on her true identity showed she had an outstanding warrant, according to the sheriff’s office.
The man in the vehicle, 48-year-old Damon Bennett, was also found to have outstanding warrants, officials said.
Both Croley and Bennett were arrested and taken to the Laurel County Corrections Center, where they were booked on their warrants and additional charges related to the suspected narcotics.
