It’s been over 47 days since 28-year-old Broadway dancer Zelig Williams was last seen, leaving his family and friends in Columbia, South Carolina, desperate for his safe return. On the morning of October 3, 2024, Zelig departed from his home, and when he failed to return, his mother, Kathy Williams, reported him missing to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department the following day. Later that night, his SUV was discovered more than 20 miles away, near the Palmetto Trail parking lot close to Congaree National Park.
In the days following his disappearance, local and national media outlets highlighted Zelig’s story, bringing widespread attention to the case. However, beyond the headlines, Zelig is cherished by his family and loved ones as a vibrant and captivating soul. Affectionately known as “Z,” he is celebrated not only for his remarkable talent on stage but also for his warm personality, dedication, and commitment to the people he loves.
Zelig’s passion for dance began in his youth, leading him to perform in acclaimed Broadway productions such as “Hamilton” and “MJ: The Musical.” His journey from Columbia to the bright lights of Broadway is a testament to his hard work and determination. Recently, he returned to his hometown with aspirations to give back by teaching dance and inspiring the next generation of performers.
His disappearance has been particularly distressing for his family, especially his mother, Kathy, who has already endured the loss of her two daughters in a car accident years ago. At a press conference, Kathy made an emotional plea for her son’s return, stating, “I just want Zelig to come home. He’s all I got.”
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate Zelig’s disappearance, utilizing all available resources and manpower. Sheriff Leon Lott emphasized the importance of community assistance, stating, “We feel confident there are people out in the community who may know something that can help us but just not realizing they have the last key to the puzzle.”
