Los Angeles (BFMG) — TMZ has received another email from a person claiming to know the identity of Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapper, and the message is described as chilling.
On Wednesday, the sender first contacted TMZ, demanding one bitcoin — currently worth around $65,000 — in exchange for the name of the alleged kidnapper. TMZ monitored the account throughout the day, but no deposit was made.
Shortly after 8 a.m. Pacific time Thursday, TMZ received a second email from the same person, who complained, “I am not being taken seriously.” The sender made ominous statements and indicated that the situation had changed from Wednesday to Thursday, but specifics are being withheld as TMZ cooperates with law enforcement.
The sender claims he needs the bitcoin so he can lay low after identifying the alleged kidnapper, saying he fears retaliation. He also says he is concerned he could be incriminated, comparing himself to Carlos, the deliveryman who was previously detained and released in the case.
The sender ends the latest message by saying this is his final attempt to help. As of the time of the latest correspondence, no money or bitcoin has been deposited into his account.
