GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (BFMG) — More than 80 people were taken into custody after Greenville County sheriff’s deputies intervened in a street takeover late Saturday night, authorities said.
According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), deputies responded to the intersection of Locust Hill Road and Fairview Road around 11:30 p.m. Sept. 5 after authorities learned of a street takeover occurring in the area.
Investigators said approximately 80 adults and multiple juveniles were arrested during the operation. Those arrested were charged with aiding and abetting a street takeover under South Carolina’s Roadway Safety and Protection Act.
Authorities said 38 vehicles were impounded and 10 firearms were seized.
The sheriff’s office said investigators encountered several forms of illegal activity during the gathering, including vehicles performing burnouts and participants blocking roadways.
South Carolina law prohibits participating in or assisting with organized street takeovers, which typically involve vehicles intentionally obstructing public roads for activities such as burnouts, racing or other dangerous driving maneuvers.
The GCSO said the investigation remains ongoing and additional charges could be filed.

Great job officers, now that’s the way to corner these idiots!! 👏👏👏👏
