GREENVILLE, S.C. (BFMG) — The Greenville County Coroner’s Office (GCCO) has ruled the death of Hayden Leslie Panettiere accidental following the completion of an autopsy and toxicology testing.

Panettiere, 36, of California, was found unresponsive Aug. 16 inside a residence at 701 Easley Bridge Road in Greenville, where authorities said she had been temporarily staying.

According to the coroner’s office, a 911 call was received at approximately 1:51 p.m. reporting a cardiac arrest. First responders and emergency medical personnel arrived at the residence and attempted advanced life-saving measures.

Panettiere was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and conducted an investigation alongside the Greenville Police Department.

An autopsy performed by a board-certified forensic pathologist found no signs of trauma that would have contributed to Panettiere’s death.

The coroner’s office determined the cause of death was the toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol and quetiapine.

Her manner of death was ruled accidental.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office said the case is now administratively closed.

We reached out to the Greenville Police Department to inquire about the status of their investigation into the death of Panettiere and they provided the following statement:
