HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (BFMG) — The parents of a Huntsville man reported missing on New Year’s Day are asking for the public’s help in finding him.
Dezman Hereford, 21, was last seen on security footage from New Year’s Eve getting into a white SUV believed to possibly be a rideshare, outside his home in the Winchester-Moores Mill area. His father, Kendricks Hereford, said Dezman didn’t say anything about leaving, and the disappearance is out of character for him.
“He ain’t never been in trouble, he’s a good kid,” Kendricks said. “We just don’t know where to begin, where to start looking.”
Dezman’s mother, Marlena Kelly, told WHNT her son was active online before his disappearance, but his phone activity stopped afterward. She and Kendricks filed a missing person report with the Huntsville Police Department and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
“I don’t want to speculate why he would leave and not say anything, or go missing and not say anything to anyone,” Kelly said. “I don’t want to speculate because I start to imagine the worst.”
Originally from Dallas, Texas, Dezman’s mom tells our outlet he moved to Huntsville one month ago to live with his father. His mother said he hasn’t made many friends in the area and mainly keeps to himself.
Dezman is described as 6 feet tall; he weights approximately 190 lbs, his hair is dreadlocked, and he often dresses in hooded sweatshirts. He has braces with black rubber bands.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Madison County Sheriff’s Office at +1-256-722-7181.
