OVERTON COUNTY, Tenn. (BFMG)— A man has been arrested in connection with the killing of his girlfriend, whose body was found last week in rural Overton County in a burning refrigerator authorities said.
The Overton County Sheriff’s Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) said Edward Randolph, 48, was charged Thursday with first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse in the death of Hope Parrott, 47.
The remains of an unidentified female were entered into NamUs on Aug. 6, after authorities made the discovery on the side of Sunk Cove Road in Crawford, TN on Jul 31. There was extensive thermal damage to the body. The remains were transported to the Middle Tennessee Regional Forensic Center for examination. The results of the examination are currently pending
Authorities allege Randolph killed Parrott, placed her body in a refrigerator, and later set the appliance on fire.
Randolph was booked into the Overton County Jail on a $50 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Aug. 21. He will be prosecuted by the 13th judicial district of Tennessee.

A donation fund has been setup to assist the family with funeral costs.
