SAN ANGELO, Texas (BFMG) — A 31-year-old woman is in custody after police allege she shot, stabbed and dismembered her live-in boyfriend, then attempted to conceal his remains in a dumpster and in concrete-filled containers.
Police said they received an anonymous Crime Stoppers tip on June 24 indicating Audrey Troncoso had killed 34-year-old Roland Matthew Shepard and disposed of his body in an apartment complex dumpster, according to KLST.
Investigators tracked the dumpster’s contents to a garbage truck en route to a landfill and stopped the vehicle. Officers recovered a trash bag containing clothing, a blood-soaked carpet and a human torso bearing tattoos consistent with Shepard, KLST reported.
Authorities later executed a search warrant at the residence Troncoso shared with Shepard. Additional human remains were discovered in containers filled with wet concrete inside a vehicle parked in the driveway, according to KLST.
Police said Troncoso was taken into custody at the scene. During an interview, she allegedly admitted to shooting Shepard in the face, stabbing him and dismembering his body using a saw and multiple knives. She also allegedly told investigators she used concrete to conceal additional remains.
On June 25, Troncoso’s father, Mario Valdes Troncoso Jr., was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence in connection with the case, according to KTXS. Investigators believe he assisted in concealing and disposing of the remains.
Authorities have not released a motive.
“This is one of the most violent homicides in recent memory that we’ve investigated here,” police told KMSP.
Audrey Troncoso is being held on a $2 million bond, according to KLST. Her father is being held on a $100,000 bond, according to court records cited by GoSanAngelo.
The investigation remains ongoing.
