BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (BFMG) — A missing 16-year-old Kentucky girl was found safe at an Idaho truck stop with a 32-year-old truck driver who was arrested on a Kentucky warrant, authorities said.
Kirea Carrington, of Bowling Green, was recovered Sept. 30 at a truck stop in Bliss, Idaho, along Interstate 84 west of Twin Falls, according to the FBI’s Louisville office and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO).
Carrington was reported missing in Warren County on Sept. 26. Authorities publicly requested help locating her the following day.
Investigators found Carrington with Victus Harte, (32), whom the FBI identified as a truck driver. He was taken into custody without incident.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office said Harte was arrested on a warrant charging him with custodial interference and was expected to be returned to Warren County to face the charge.
Sheriff Brett Hightower said that his office regularly investigates missing juvenile reports, but that circumstances surrounding Carrington’s disappearance were particularly alarming. He did not publicly explain those circumstances.
The FBI said Tuesday that Carrington had been reunited with her family over the weekend.
FBI Louisville credited the Boise Resident Agency of FBI Salt Lake City, Idaho State Police, Twin Falls Police Department and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office for assisting in her recovery.
