BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (BFMG) — Police are investigating a shooting spree that left three people injured in two separate locations on Monday afternoon. The incidents began shortly after 4:30 p.m. with multiple ShotSpotter alerts reporting gunfire in the 4700 block of 9th Court North.
Officers responded to the location, where evidence markers were observed outside a nearby food mart. The situation escalated when police discovered the first victim several blocks away at the Shell Gas Station on Richard Arrington Jr. Boulevard at 50th Street North. The man’s injuries were not life-threatening.
Later, authorities located two women at an apartment complex in the 4400 block of 9th Avenue North. Both had been shot, and one of the women sustained life-threatening injuries. Police believe the shootings were part of a single incident.
Despite a search, no suspects have been taken into custody, and police have not released further details about the investigation at this time.
