HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (BFMG) — The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) escalated its investigation into the disappearance of Ronald Leslie Dumas Jr., 37, after uncovering evidence confirming his abduction on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024.
Authorities initially treated Dumas’ case as a missing persons investigation. However, new developments indicating that multiple individuals may have been involved have prompted HPD to reclassify the case as an abduction.
In a related move, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) issued a Missing and Endangered Alert, urging anyone with information about Dumas to come forward.
HPD has not released further details about the evidence or the individuals under investigation. The department and ALEA continue to work closely as the investigation progresses.
