GREENVILLE, S.C. (BFMG) — A former Furman University wide receiver was arrested this month on voyeurism and peeping tom charges.
Joshua Harris, 21, was taken into custody by the university’s police department on Oct. 8, according to Greenville County jail records. He faces two counts each of voyeurism and peeping tom.
Furman spokesman Clinton Colmenares confirmed Harris is no longer enrolled at the university but declined to provide further details about the charges, citing student confidentiality laws.
Because Furman is a private institution, its police department is not subject to public records laws.
Under South Carolina law, voyeurism involves photographing or recording someone in a sexual context without their consent.
Harris, a communications major from Atlanta, was a standout player for the Paladins. He caught 42 passes for 380 yards and scored two touchdowns during the 2023 season, according to an archived version of his player profile. In 2021, Harris was named to the Southern Conference All-Freshman Team.
Colmenares said the university handles criminal and student conduct investigations for athletes the same as it would for any other student.
