MUSKOGEE COUNTY, Okla.(BFMG) — A Muskogee man has been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to child sexual abuse and child neglect charges following a case in which an 11-year-old girl gave birth at home.
Dustin Walker, 35, pleaded guilty in March to one felony count of child sexual abuse of a child under 12 and six counts of child neglect. Prosecutors said the case began in August 2025, when the 11-year-old girl arrived at a local hospital after delivering a baby at home.
At that time, both Walker and 34-year-old Cherie Walker were charged with child neglect, accused of failing to provide the girl with necessary medical care.
Investigators later obtained DNA test results from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation that identified Dustin Walker as the father of the newborn, authorities said. Following those results, Walker was formally charged with child sexual abuse, and Cherie Walker received an additional charge of enabling child sexual abuse.
On Monday, the court sentenced Walker to life in prison on the child sexual abuse charge.
According to court records, Walker also received a 15-year sentence for his first count of child neglect, five years on each of the next four counts of child neglect and seven years on the final count of child neglect. The court ordered all of the neglect sentences to be served consecutively, meaning he must serve each term one after another rather than at the same time.
The court further ruled that Walker must complete the sentences for his child neglect convictions before officially beginning his life sentence for child sexual abuse.
