SMYRNA, Ga. (BFMG) — An 18-year-old man previously charged with concealing a death now faces a malice murder charge in the investigation into Shanteria “KT” Mosley’s death, Smyrna police announced Friday night.
Detectives searched a vehicle Friday, Sept. 25, and found garbage bags in its trunk, according to a police news release. One bag was pulled tightly around what appeared to be a body part. Detectives left it unopened and called the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office (CCME). After an examiner arrived, the bags were opened and body parts were confirmed, police said.
“Based on the information we have at this time, we do believe the victim to be Shanteria Mosley,” the department said. Police did not say whether the remains found in the vehicle had been formally identified or how they believe the vehicle is connected to the case.
Kingston Lammar Bradley, (18), was initially charged with felony concealing the death of another person after human remains were found Wednesday night at Park Valley Apartments in Smyrna. A Cobb County arrest warrant (.pdf) names Mosley’s aunt, Michelle Weaver, as the witness who saw Bradley carrying a plastic tub through the complex. The warrant alleges he dropped the container and ran to a nearby apartment when he saw her. Investigators found a dismembered human torso inside, according to the warrant.
The warrant also says a search of Bradley’s apartment uncovered bloodstains, a bloody saw and cleaning supplies. Those allegations supported the initial concealment charge; police announced the additional malice murder charge Friday.
Mosley’s family said the 26-year-old had left home Wednesday to make DoorDash deliveries. When relatives could not reach her, they tracked her phone and searched the apartment complex, where they found her car. Blunt Force Media has confirmed Mosley was working as a DoorDash driver that day, but there is no record of her making a delivery to the complex that day or previously. Authorities have not explained what brought her there.
Police said the investigation remains active and detectives are following up on leads. The department has not released a cause of death.
