ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (BFMG) — An 18-year-old charged in the shooting death of a missing Seneca man is scheduled to appear in court Friday morning for a preliminary hearing in Anderson County. He waived his right to the appearance according to family members of the victim.
Daeshawn Marquize Wilson is facing charges of murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime in connection to the death of 31-year-old Jimmy Allen Ramey.
Ramey was reported missing on Feb. 18 after he failed to pick up his wife from work. His body was discovered eight days later in a wooded area near Wilson’s family property on Brown Road. The Anderson County Coroner’s Office confirmed Ramey died of multiple gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide according to WSPA.
Wilson was arrested shortly after authorities located Ramey’s body. According to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Ramey’s truck was located in Georgia during the course of the investigation.
The sheriff’s office said the case appears to be an isolated incident. An autopsy has been conducted as part of the ongoing investigation.
